LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's basketball team fell by a final score of 72-45 against the 18th-ranked Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets on the home floor on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Yellow Jackets (11-3, 5-1 ODAC) swarmed the Generals (3-10, 1-3 ODAC) from the jump, as they made eight of their first 14 shots, to 2-of-12 from the Blue and White, for a 21-5 lead through 11 minutes of play. Randolph-Macon got balanced scoring early with six different players on the scoreboard, led by Jabril Robinson with five.
W&L found a rhythm to close out the first half by making 4-of-8 shots from the field to outscore RMC, 15-13, heading into the break. First-year
Connor Amorosi was the Generals' leading scorer in that time with seven points.
Randolph-Macon scored the first 13 points of the second half across almost six minutes of play and outscored the Blue and White 21-1 in the first 10 minutes of the half to extend their lead to 55-21 at the 9:49 mark. The Generals ended the day by making six of their final 15 shots, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, to close the game on a 24-17 run. First-year
Bryce Breeden led the Generals with six points in that time.

Amorosi led the Generals with 13 points, while Breeden added three rebounds to his six points. Junior

Jackson Ransom both scored five points, with Ryan leading the team with six rebounds.
Keishawn Pulley led all scorers on the day with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting and 5-of-5 from long range. Oliver Jones scored a season-high 13 points, and Jabril Robinson tallied 10 points and seven rebounds. Liam Joyce led the defensive efforts with six rebounds and four steals, with Delani Hammonds dishing out a game-high four assists.
TEAM STATS:
The Yellow Jackets made 50.9 percent (27-53) of their shots in the game, including 39.1 percent (9-23) of their three-point shots. They connected on 50 percent or more of their field goals in both halves and made 6-of-13 (.462) triples in the second half. The Generals ended the game at 25.5 percent (12-47) shooting overall and made 16-of-22 free throw attempts.
Both teams committed 19 turnovers, but RMC came away with a 25-12 advantage in points off turnovers. The Yellow Jackets also led in bench points (25-18), points in the paint (30-12) and second-chance points (14-3).
