HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams were tied up 2-2 after the opening period with a pair of back-to-back W&L goals from Hanna Bishop at 8:37 and 7:51. 
• The hosts would go on to score the next six goals to build up a 7-2 advantage which included four unanswered goals in the second quarter. 
• Walker McKnight was able to stop the bleeding at the 10:56 mark with an unassisted tally. 
• However, the victors responded with a 4-0 run to extend their lead to 11-3.
• W&L capped the third quarter with an unassisted goal from senior Ginny Taylor with three minutes left in the third period. 
• With 3:21 of action left, the Generals went on a 5-0 stretch to end the day and came within three goals of the Sea Gulls but ran out of time to complete the comeback. 
• In the fourth quarter, Julia Thomson (3) Taylor, McKnight, Cat Caples and Claire Horner recorded goals to come within three tallies of the hosts.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Salisbury outshot the Generals 38-17 including a 14-2 advantage in the second quarter. 
• The home team also won the ground ball battle 21-13, but W&L edged SU 15-14 on the draw circle. 
• The Blue and White committed 23 turnovers and Salisbury caused 17 of those. 

W&L LEADERS 

• Thomson led W&L's offense with a trio of scores in the last three and a half minutes of action. 
• Bishop added an assist to her stat line for three total points. 
• McKnight and Taylor ended with two goals each. 
• Three Generals ended with three draw controls each: Betty Boatwright, Eugenie Rovegno and Caples. 
• Caorline Kranich made six stops in the loss. 

SU LEADERS

• Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hunsinger made three stops and earned the win for SU.
• Erin Scannnel and Leah Vilov paced the victors with three goals a piece and 10 different Sea Gulls scored. 
• Mary Hanzsche dished out three assists in addition to a goal to lead all scorers with four points.
