Generals fall in regular season finale at No. 3 Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's basketball team dropped its 2023-24 regular season finale at No. 3 Randolph-Macon on Saturday by a final score of 65-44.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Generals (16-9, 10-6 ODAC) and Yellow Jackets (22-3, 15-1 ODAC) were locked in an even battle through over 13 minutes of play, as both sides scored 18 points. W&L senior Robert DiSibio had a game-high eight points in the early going, while Margad Choijilsuren had an RMC-best five points. Both teams also shot nearly identical field goal percentages across the first third of the game, with W&L at 38.9 percent (7-18) and the Jackets at 36.8 percent (7-19).

Randolph-Macon then held the Generals scoreless over the final 6:49 of the opening half, while scoring the final eight points, to take a 26-18 lead into the break. That 8-0 run to close the first half came on the front end of an overall 27-8 stretch for the home team, leaving the Jackets ahead, 45-26, with 10:42 left in the game.

The Generals scored 18 points the rest of the half to close out the game, but RMC never allowed more than two consecutive scores by the Blue and White to maintain its commanding lead. DiSibio scored 11 of his team-high 19 points over the final 10 minutes of the game.

TOP PERFORMERS:
