Women’s Swimming Wraps up at D3 Shootout

CHICAGO — The Washington and Lee University women's swim team concluded their competition at the 2024 D3 Shootout, hosted by the University of Chicago, with a series of strong performances in multiple events on Day 2. Competing against top-ranked Division III programs, the Generals secured valuable points across both relay and individual events.

Senior Bella Tarbet continued to lead the team, finishing 6th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.50. Tarbet was joined by freshman Vivian Pickeral, who placed 8th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.16, and senior Myla Rice, who finished 10th in the 50-yard freestyle (24.58) and 9th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.76.

The 400-yard medley relay team, featuring Pickeral, Morgan Smith, Tarbet, and Rice, rounded out the night with an 8th-place finish, clocking in at 3:56.83. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of Schuyler Ross, Celia Bredehoeft, Tenra Adams, and Pickeral finished in 8th place with a time of 7:55.06, contributing essential points to the team's final score.

The Generals' women's team concluded the event in 10th place in the overall team standings.
