Women’s Swimming Completes First Day of Competition at D3 Shootout

CHICAGO — Members of the Washington and Lee University's women's swim team wrapped up a strong first day at the 2024 D3 Shootout, hosted by the University of Chicago. Competing against some of the top Division III teams in the nation, the Generals notched several standout performances in the opening session.

Friday's opening event was the 200-yard medley relay. The team, composed of Vivian Pickeral, Clara Attar, Bella Tarbet, and Myla Rice, finished in 10th place, clocking in at 1:47.89.

The women's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Ross, Bredehoeft, Adams, and Pickeral closed the night with an eighth-place finish, clocking in at 7:55.06.

Women's Results

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay: Washington and Lee University finished 10th with a time of 1:47.89.
  • 400 Yard IM: Celia Bredehoeft finished 7th with a time of 4:42.46; Clara Attar finished 15th with a time of 4:40.14.
  • 200 Yard Freestyle: Schuyler Ross finished 10th with a time of 1:58.44; Tenra Adams finished 20th with a time of 1:58.87.
  • 50 Yard Freestyle: Bella Tarbet finished 9th with a time of 24.58; Myla Rice finished 15th with a time of 24.47.
  • 200 Yard Butterfly: Bella Tarbet finished 7th with a time of 2:09.76; Morgan Smith finished 15th with a time of 2:10.24.
  • 100 Yard Backstroke: Vivian Pickeral finished 8th with a time of 58.16; Myla Rice finished 16th with a time of 59.03.
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke: Morgan Smith finished 10th with a time of 1:06.76; Clara Attar finished 16th with a time of 1:07.45.
  • 800 Yard Freestyle Relay: Washington and Lee University finished 8th with a time of 7:55.06.

UP NEXT

After a solid performance, Washington and Lee stands in 10th place with 191 points. The Generals will resume competition tomorrow as they look to build on their success and challenge for more top finishes.
