No. 25 Women’s Swimming Eases by Lynchburg, 215.5-84.5

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The 25th-ranked Washington and Lee University women's swimming team notched their third win of the season in style as they downed the University of Lynchburg, 215.5-84.5, on Saturday afternoon.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Blue and White are now 3-2 on the season, winning their fourth-straight dual meet against the Hornets. The Generals won 13 of the 14 events this afternoon to claim a decisive victory.
  • Vivian Pickeral, Clara Attar, Bella Tarbet and Myla Rice kicked off the meet in style as they won the 200 medley relay with a winning time of 1:49.54.
  • In addition to her win with the 200 medley relay team, Tarbet secured two individual wins this afternoon. She finished in first place with a time of 24.78s in the 50 freestyle before clocking in a winning time of 58.80s to win the 100 butterfly.
  • Celia Bredehoeft and Schuyler Ross won both of the distance events for the Generals. Bredehoeft clocked in a winning time of 11:07.20 in the 1000 freestyle while Ross finished in first place with a time of 5:26.24 in the 500 freestyle.
  • Maria Jellig posted two solo wins for the Blue and White this afternoon, finishing in first place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.62 followed by a win in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.63.
  • Riley Moorman picked up her first solo win of the season in the 200 freestyle, clocking in a winning time of 2:00.42. Pickeral added a solo win on top of her win with the 200 medley relay team. She clocking in a winning time of 1:00.40 in the 100 backstroke.
  • Attar also added a solo win this afternoon, finishing in first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.90. Peighton Kruzel notched her first win for the Generals in the 200 butterfly, clocking in a time of 2:14.76.
  • Rice took home gold in the 100 freestyle with a winning time of 54.02s in addition to her win with the 200 medley relay team. Morgan Smith rounded out the solo wins for the Blue and White, clocking in a winning time of 2:30.78 in the 200 breaststroke.

UP NEXT
  • The 22nd-ranked Generals are back in action this weekend at the Randolph-Macon Invitational. The three-day meet will kick off on Friday, Nov. 22 before concluding on Sunday, Nov. 24. Each day will have two sessions, with the first one starting at 10 a.m. and the second one set to start at 6 p.m.
