HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – A late rally for the 10th-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team came up short on Wednesday, as Hampden-Sydney scored with 3:31 left in the fourth overtime for an 11-10 final.
The Generals fall to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the loss, while the Tigers improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the ODAC with the win. It marked W&L's first game to reach a fourth overtime since an 8-7 loss at Hampden-Sydney on April 12, 2003.
After three extra periods of play did not yield a winner, including a 7-4 shot advantage from Hampden-Sydney in that time, Campion White tallied the winner with 3:31 left in the fourth extra frame to end the game. The Tigers won the stanza's opening face-off and proceeded to call a timeout after 15 seconds had passed to set up the game-winning play.
The Generals trailed by a mark of 9-4 heading into the fourth quarter, but showed life with two goals in just over three minutes to open the period, one from senior

Elliot Cohen (Stamford, Conn. / Taft School).
The Tigers shut W&L out in both the first and third quarters, leading 3-0 after the opening frame. W&L put four goals up in the second quarter, which included two scores and an assist from Pokorny, before another 3-0 period from H-SC in the third gave the Tigers their 9-4 lead.
Pokorny finished with a game-high five points on three goals and two assists, his fourth five-point game this season and fourth straight outing with at least three points. Burns finished with three points on two goals and one helper, while Cohen, Lackey and Elliott each contributed one goal and one assist. Junior
Will Bou (Chevy Chase, Md. / Landon) finished the day winning 12-of-21 face-offs, and he added four ground balls.
