WINCHESTER, Va. – The 25th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team skated past Shenandoah in ODAC play on Tuesday, winning by a 7-2 score.

First-years Grace Lorenz (Oklahoma City, Okla. / Epic Charter Schools) and Riho Iijima (Portland, Ore. / Westview) teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles, and junior Izzy Koziol (Wilton, Conn. / Wilton) and first-year Karolina Moss (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Chaparral) matched that result at No. 2. The Generals (9-4, 6-0 ODAC) forfeited No. 3 doubles, and led by a 2-1 team score heading to singles play.

Koziol and Iijima both posted shutout wins in singles, with Koziol playing at No. 2 and Iijima at No. 3. Moss and senior Gracie Caplice (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's School) had nearly identical results, as well, at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Moss won by a 6-0, 6-2 final and Caplice took down Erin Talko, 6-2, 6-0.

Lorenz wrapped up the Blue and White wins on the day, but battled to three sets against Jahveesha Combs before ultimately winning, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5). The Hornets (4-6, 1-3 ODAC) gained their second point of the match through a forfeit at No. 6 singles.

Through six ODAC matches this season, the Generals have picked up 50 singles and doubles wins, while surrendering four team points to their opponents, all of which have been forfeits.

The Generals will return to the courts on Friday when they will split between a home contest against Averett (3:00 pm) and a road match at Hollins (4:00 pm).
