GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The 21st-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to 18th-ranked Washington (Mo.) on Friday in the Generals' third straight Top 25 matchup.
Junior
Gabi Moss (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Chaparral) claimed one of the three wins for W&L (4-3). After she dropped the first set to Sophia Huynh, 6-4, at No. 2 singles, Moss came back to win the second and third sets, 7-5 and 10-5, respectively.
First-year
Grace Lorenz (Oklahoma City, Okla. / Epic Charter Schools) and junior
Margaret Carlton (Matthews, N.C. / Charlotte Christian) also won at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Lorenz cruised past Carolyn Tsung, 6-0, 6-2, while Carlton battled to a 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 14-12 victory against Hallie Jeffers.
The Generals will wrap up their Indiana trip on Saturday with a 1:00 pm first serve against DePauw.
