LEXINGTON, Va. – The 21st-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team dropped its second straight match against a Top 12 opponent, losing by a 6-3 score to No. 10 Sewanee on Saturday.

Gabi Moss (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Chaparral) held the closest match at an 8-6 decision at No. 3 against Nicole Nowak and Emma Smith.
In singles, W&L claimed three of the six matches for its three points on the day. First-year
Lauren Long (Carmel, Ind. / Park Tudor) bounced back at No. 1 after dropping her first set to win the next two, 6-0, 6-4, to defeat Smith. Waters claimed victory at No. 4 by set scores of 6-4, 6-2, while junior
Margaret Carlton (Matthews, N.C. / Charlotte Christian) defeated Natalia Nassar, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 6.
The Generals will be back in action on Friday, February 24, when they take on 18th-ranked Washington (Mo.) from Greencastle, Ind.
