Generals Wrap Up IHSA Double Header with Third Place Finish

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Washington and Lee University equestrian and riding team took third on the second day of the IHSA Double Header weekend hosted by the University of Virginia, James Madison University and the Generals.

The Blue and White picked up eight ribbons in the 13 class events with a pair of wins in the Introductory Hunter Seat Equitation and Pre-Novice Hunter Seat Equitation.

W&L placed third in the Hunter Seat Point team scoring with 27 points. Virginia won the event with 38 points and JMU took second.

OPEN EQUITATION

On the Flat

Clare O'Brien placed fourth in the eight-person event class.
Elisabeth Marek took fifth.

Over Fences

Clare O'Brien was the runner up in Open Hunter Seat Equitation over Fences.

INTERMEDIATE EQUITATION

On the Flat

Elli Pope took fourth in the class.

LIMIT EQUITATION

On the Flat

Lydia Bowersox placed third overall in the show class six event

PRE-NOVICE EQUITATION

In rider class 2A, Margot Vencil placed first.
Abby Portwood took second in the 2A section.

INTRODUCTORY EQUITATION

Julia Luzzio won the introductory hunter class.

UP NEXT

The Generals will take a break for winter and continue competition on February 17 at the Virginia Tech IHSA event in Blacksburg.
