LEXINGTON, Va. – The top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team coasted to a 5-0 victory over fourth-seeded Bridgewater in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The team of junior
Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) and first-year
Evan Erb (
Evan Erb (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS), and the team of sophomores
Connor Coleman (Birmingham, Ala. / Briarwood Christian) and
Josh Rassin (Houston, Texas / Lamar) both had an easy time with their doubles matches. Brady and Erb won 8-1 at No. 2, while Coleman and Rassin claimed an 8-1 win at No. 3. The No. 1 duo of first-years
Eli Hirshberg (Alpharetta, Ga. / Johns Creek) and
Will Kistler (Hilton Head, S.C. / Laurel Springs) notched an 8-6 victory for a 3-0 lead.
In singles, Coleman produced a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 and Brady closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles.
Washington and Lee advances to Sunday's ODAC Championship match, where it will face either second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan or third-seeded Hampden-Sydney at 10 am.
