Dutch Prather '30

Prather wins twice, advances to ITA Regional Singles Quarterfinal

10/2/2026 6:07:00 PM

Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – First-year Dutch Prather secured a pair of wins on Friday to clinch a spot in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 ITA Men's Southeast Regional Championship Singles draw.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM DAY 2:
  • Prather squared off against Swarthmore's Fate MacAlasdair in the Round of 32 and prevailed by a 6-3, 6-4 final for his second consecutive straight-set win. Prather then found himself down a set against Christopher Newport's Ivan Ceric, but battled back to win the second set, 6-3, before taking the third-set, 10-point tiebreak, 10-7.
  • Prather also made some noise in the morning with doubles partner Heys Parker, as the ninth-seeded Generals tandem got a bye in the first round before claiming an 8-4 win over Randolph's Tom Laflamme and Jacob Martin in the Round of 32.
  • After falling in Championship Singles on Thursday, Parker and sophomore Todd Cannaliato redeemed themselves in the consolation bracket on Friday. Both picked up 8-3 wins in the Consolation Round of 32 to remain alive for Saturday action.
  • Sophomore Henry Imorde and first-year Lach McCaghren also won once in doubles with an 8-4 final against the Hampden-Sydney team of Jonathon Fogle and Slade Funderburk. Imorde and McCaghren bowed out of Championship Doubles, however, in the next round to the Mary Washington team of William Fromherz and Matt Scott.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Prather will be the first General since Evan Erb '25 in 2023 to appear in the quarterfinal round of the championship singles draw. Erb made a run to the championship match that season, and thus punched his ticket to the ITA Cup.
UP NEXT:
  • Prather will headline the Generals' Saturday participants, opening the day with Parker in Championship Doubles (Round of 16) at 8:00 a.m. before playing his singles quarterfinal at 12:00 p.m. Should the Generals advance, the doubles quarterfinal will be played Saturday at 10:00 a.m., with the singles semifinal round at 3:30 p.m.
  • Parker and Cannaliato are currently slated for more consolation singles action at 2:00 p.m.
