Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The 18th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team closed out the 2022 regular season on Friday with a 9-0 win over Hollins at home.
The Generals improve to 12-6 overall and 9-0 in the ODAC with the win, while Hollins falls to 2-17 overall and 0-9 in conference with the loss.
All three W&L doubles teams won, 8-0, and all six singles players won, 6-0, 6-0, to mark the second straight match (third overall) that the Generals haven't lost a single game in a 9-0 win.
Senior
Taylor Garcia (Mandeville, La. / Mount Carmel Academy) won at No. 1 singles, sophomore
Gabi Moss (Paradise Valley, Ariz. / Chaparral) defeated Amelia Shaw at No. 2, and the two paired at No. 1 doubles for the 8-0 win over Krishna Agrawal and Shaw.
Sophomore
Izzy Koziol (Wilton, Conn. / Wilton) downed Carlia Kearney at No. 3 singles and sophomore
Nell Covington (Dallas, Texas / Highland Park) won at No. 6, and they combined for the 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
The final W&L wins came from junior
Marta Mikos (Willowbrook, Ill. / Hinsdale South) and first-year
Meagan Donovan (Jacksonville, Fla. / The Bolles School), who claimed singles wins at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, while pairing for the 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Generals will be back in action on Wednesday with a home ODAC Quarterfinal matchup. The opponent and time of match are yet to be determined.
