SALISBURY, Md. – The Washington and Lee men's tennis team extended its unbeaten streak to eight in a row with a 9-0 non-conference victory at Salisbury University on Thursday afternoon.
 
The win was W&L's fifth straight without dropping a match, upping the Generals' overall record to 10-8 with one regular-season match remaining.  The Seagulls fell to 7-10 with the loss.
 
The Blue & White one again seized control of the match during the doubles competition, as Salisbury provided little resistance.  The tandem of senior T.J. Rudden (Mountain Lakes, N.J. / Mountain Lakes) and first-year James Kurani (Charlotte, N.C. / Providence Day) cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles, while first-years Eli Hirshberg (Alpharetta, Ga. / Johns Creek) and Will Kistler (Hilton Head, S.C. / Laurel Springs School) combined for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.  Junior Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) and first-year Evan Erb (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS) posted an 8-5 victory at the No. 2 position.
 
In singles action, W&L swept all six matches in straight sets.  Erb made quick work of senior Brad Pappalardo at the No. 1 position, claiming a 6-1, 6-1 victory, while Kistler downed first-year Gianluca Beaujon at No. 2, 6-2, 6-0.  Hirshberg added a 6-0, 6-2 win over first-year Christopher Catan at the No. 4 position.  Other singles winners included Brady at No. 3, sophomore Connor Coleman (Birmingham, Ala. / Briarwood Christian) at No. 5 and senior Alex Fedor (Salem, Ore. / South Salem) at No. 6.
 
Washington and Lee, which will be the top seed for the ODAC Tournament, returns to action on Saturday with another non-conference affair.  The Generals will host Franklin & Marshall at 11:00 am.
