BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The 35th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team easily posted a 9-0 victory over Bridgewater on Thursday afternoon at the Mapp-Whitelow Tennis Courts.
The No. 2 doubles team of junior
Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) and sophomore
Evan Erb (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS), and the No. 3 tandem of senior
Alex Fedor (Salem, Ore. / South Salem) and sophomore
Connor Coleman (Birmingham, Ala. / Briarwood Christian) each claimed their matches 8-0, as the Generals carried a 3-0 lead into singles play.
In singles, the Blue & White claimed all six matches in straight sets, led by Erb who notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Gabe Elder at No. 1. Brady and Fedor added 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively.
The win was W&L's 45th straight in conference play during the regular season and improved the Generals' all-time record against Bridgewater to 36-0. W&L is now 3-8 overall and 3-0 in ODAC play this season. Bridgewater slipped to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in ODAC matches.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Virginia Wesleyan for a 1:00 pm match.
