W&L Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight, Downs R-MC, 7-2

ASHLAND, Va. -- The 35th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team improved to 2-0 in conference play with a road 7-2 victory over Randolph-Macon on Friday afternoon.

The Generals dropped No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-4, but easily claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 3 to enter singles play with a 2-1 advantage.  W&L fell at No. 2 singles, but surrendered just nine games across the other five singles matches in cruising to its 44th ODAC regular-season win.

With the win, W&L is now 2-7 overall and Randolph-Macon slipped to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Washington and Lee returns to action with another difficult non-conference match against 20th-ranked Mary Washington.  The Generals will host the Eagles on March 19 for a 1:00 pm match.
