GRANVILLE, Ohio – The 21st-ranked Denison men's tennis team produced a 9-0 victory over 29th-ranked Washington and Lee on Saturday afternoon in Granville, Ohio.
The Generals shuffled the lineup due to injury and faced a stiff challenge against the Big Red. Denison had little trouble sweeping the doubles points, taking Nos. 1-2 doubles by scores of 8-2 and then posting an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Denison also swept the singles competition, taking all six matches in straight sets. At No. 2 singles, senior
T.J. Rudden (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) nearly forced a third-set, but he eventually fell by a score of 6-2, 7-5.
Washington and Lee will be back in action on Sunday when it travels to second-ranked Case Western Reserve for a 9:00 am contest.
