LEXINGTON, Va. – The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened play in the 2021 ODAC Tournament with a 5-0 quarterfinal victory over Bridgewater on Sunday afternoon at the Upper Courts.
The Generals rolled through doubles, taking a 3-0 lead after dropping just two games across the three matches.
In singles, first-year
Josh Rassin (Houston, Texas / Lamar) defeated Bryce Cline, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 and senior
Noah Tapp (Lexington, Ky. / Henry Clay) downed Matthew Gordon at No. 2 to close out the match.
Washington and Lee is now 11-4 overall, while Bridgewater ends its season at 6-8.
The Generals will host an ODAC Tournament Semifinal match on Wednesday against either fourth-seeded Lynchburg or fifth-seeded Roanoke. The time is still TBD.
