Bernstein Breaks W&L 1,500m Record at Emory Final Qualifier

ATLANTA, Ga. — Washington and Lee men's track and field junior Ethan Bernstein (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) broke his own school record in the 1,500m on Wednesday at the Emory Final Qualifier.

Highlights From the Meet
  • In a race of nine runners, Bernstein claimed the top spot, crossing the finish line in 3:51.86. He fell off the lead in the third lap, but came storming back over the last 400 meters to take first in the race.
  • The time broke his previous record of 3:52.60, which he set Hopkins Charm City Invitational on May 11. Bernstein's new school-record time is the 22nd fastest in Division III this year.
