Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 18 Washington and Lee women's tennis team defeated Randolph-Macon on Sunday in a 5-0 decision at home.
The Generals (11-2, 9-0 ODAC) did not drop a single game in sweeping all three doubles matches. Sophomore
Becket Waters (Raleigh, N.C. / Needham B. Broughton) and first-year
Gabi Moss (Paradise Valley, Ariz. / Chaparral) teamed up at No. 1, junior
Claire Lacksen (Watkinsville, Ga. / Oconee County) and first-year
Nell Covington (Dallas, Texas / Highland Park) paired at No. 2 and first-year
Izzy Koziol (Wilton, Conn. / Wilton) and sophomore
Gracie Caplice (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's School) teamed up at No. 3, all for 8-0 wins.
The two singles winners were Caplice and junior
Taylor Garcia (Mandeville, La. / Mount Carmel Academy). Caplice defeated Isabel Wadsworth, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 and Garcia clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 over Grace Holderman.
The Generals will be back in action on Friday when they close their regular season with a road match at Southern Virginia at 3:00 pm.
