SALEM, Va. – The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team completed its regular-season ODAC slate with an 8-1 road victory over Roanoke College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Generals swept the doubles points and produced singles wins from positions 2-6. W&L fell at No. 1 singles in three sets.
Senior
Noah Tapp (Lexington, Ky. / Henry Clay) took his first set against Dalton Capobianco by a score of 6-0 and was up 1-0 in the second set when Capobianco retired. Sophomore
Mac Morehead (Spartanburg, S.C. / Spartanburg) also had a fairly easy time in his match against Lance Beheler at No. 6 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0.
Washington and Lee completed the ODAC slate with an unblemished mark for the fifth consecutive year. The Generals are now 10-3 overall and 9-0 in league matches. Roanoke fell to 6-5, 4-4 in the ODAC.
The Blue & White completes the regular season on Saturday when it travels to 16th-ranked Mary Washington for a 1:00 pm match. The two teams also met in Lexington on April 6, with the Eagles taking the match, 5-4.
