FERRUM, Va. – The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team won its 39th straight ODAC regular season match on Sunday, defeating Ferrum on the road by a score of 9-0.
The Generals swept through the doubles play without dropping a single game, taking all three matches by a score of 8-0.
In singles action, W&L surrendered just eight games total across the six matches. First-year
Jonathan Molner (Atlanta, Ga. / Lovett) won his match at No. 4 singles over Dakota McDaniel 6-0, 6-0, while sophomore
Blake Cilmi (North Salem, N.Y. / Hotchkiss School) downed Jacob Grady at No. 6 singles by the same score.
The win improved the Blue & White to 8-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Ferrum slipped to 2-9 overall and 0-8 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Emory & Henry for a 3:30 pm contest.
