LEXINGTON, Va. – The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team claimed its 24th straight win over Randolph-Macon, downing the Yellow Jackets by a score of 9-0 on Saturday at the Upper Courts.
The Generals' top two doubles squads each posted an 8-2 win, while the No. 3 doubles tandem of sophomores Mac Morehard (Spartanburg, S.C. / Spartanburg) and
James Torbert (Montgomery, Ala. / Montgomery Academy) logged an 8-4 victory for a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
First-year
Harry Kittredge (Alexandria, Va. / The Field School) notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles for the second straight match, giving W&L a 4-0 lead. Classmate
Jonathan Molner (Atlanta, Ga. / Lovett) also notched a 6-0, 6-0 win and the Blue & White cruised to the win.
W&L improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in ODAC play, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-1 overall and in league play.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Roanoke College for a 3:00 pm match.
