NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped a narrow 5-4 loss to 21st-ranked North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at James River Country Club.
The Generals fell behind 2-1 following the doubles competition and split the six singles matches, taking No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. The No. 3 singles match between senior
Mitchell Thomas (Houma, La. / Vandebilt Catholic) and Nikita Revin went to a third set, with Revin winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
W&L dropped to 1-2 overall on the season, while North Carolina Wesleyan improved to 3-1.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday when it takes on Christopher Newport at 10:00 am in Newport News.
