Box Score ROANOKE Va. – The No. 22 Washington and Lee women's tennis team won its third match in a row on Tuesday afternoon, a 6-3 decision over Roanoke in ODAC play.
The Generals improved to 10-5 overall with the win and 9-0 in conference, while the Maroons fell to 9-6 overall and 7-3 in the ODAC.
First-years Taylor Garcia (Mandeville, La./Mount Carmel Academy) and Georgia Wright (Austin, Texas/Regents School of Austin) earned an 8-1 win over Jessica Kennedy and Madeline Herringin No. 1 doubles, before going on to claim 6-0, 6-1 wins each in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
Junior Anna Kreynin (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) teamed with senior Mary Hampton McNeal (Beaufort, S.C./South Carolina Connections Academy) in No. 2 doubles as the duo secured an 8-0 win over Carolyn Kitsock and Janny Alvarado. Kreynin defeated Herring, 6-3, 6-1, in No. 3 singles and McNeal downed Alvarado, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 4 singles.
The three Roanoke wins came via forfeit in No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
The Generals will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Emory & Henry in their final home match of the regular season. Play is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
