ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team battled third-ranked Emory on Tuesday afternoon, falling by a score of 8-1 in Atlanta.
The Generals posted an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles to enter the singles matches down 2-1. However, W&L couldn't come up with a singles victory, though first-year Bobby Neuner (Darien, Conn. / Darien) battled Adrien Bouchet to a third set before falling 6-2, 4-6, 10-0.
The loss ended a five-match winning streak for the Blue & White, which fell to 9-5 overall. With the win, Emory improved to 14-2.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Sewanee for a 3:00 pm match central time.
