LEXINGTON, Va. -- The top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team posted a 5-0 decision over eighth-seeded Shenandoah in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the W&L Lower Courts.
The Generals cruised to a 3-0 lead following the doubles competition and closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win by sophomore Mitchell Thomas (Houma, La. / Vandebilt Catholic) at No. 2 singles and a 6-0, 6-0 win by first-year Tye Loan (Bremerton, Wash. / Olympic) at No. 4 singles.
W&L improved to 10-6 overall and the Hornets slipped to 7-9.
Washington and Lee will now play the winner of a match between fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan and fifth-seeded Bridgewater on Saturday at Virginia Wesleyan. The match will begin at 1:30 pm.
