Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The 12th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team fell to 17th-ranked Sewanee, 5-0, to finish sixth at the ITA Indoor National Championships on Sunday at the Baylor School.
The Tigers took a 3-0 lead into singles play after claiming all three doubles matches.
Sewanee's Ellie Czura topped senior Emily Kochard (Charlottesville, Va. / Western Albemarle) by a score of 6-1, 7-5, at No. 3 singles and Catherine Owen posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over sophomore Lily Horsley (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's School) at No. 4 singles to close out the match.
The Generals drop to 7-2 overall with the loss, while Sewanee improves to 8-1 overall with the victory.
Washington and Lee returns to action on March 10 when it hosts Hollins at 10:00 am.
