ASHLAND, Va. -- The top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team advanced to the ODAC Championship match with a 5-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC Tournament Semifinals on Saturday morning at Randolph-Macon.
W&L swept through the doubles points and then closed out the match with singles wins by sophomore Zack Ely (Norwalk, Conn. / Brien McMahon) at No. 3 and first-year Mitchell Thomas (Houma, La. / Vandebilt Catholic) at No. 5.
The Blue & White improved to 15-6 overall, while the Tigers' season ends at 12-7 overall.
The Generals will take on the winner of a match between second-seeded Bridgewater and third-seeded Guilford in Sunday's championship at 10:00 am.
