HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- The 33rd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team posted an 8-1 road victory over Hampden-Sydney on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers claimed a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles, but the Generals took Nos. 2-3 doubles and then swept the singles matches in straight sets.
W&L improved to 10-4 overall and 7-0 in conference play, while H-SC fell to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday when it hosts seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon for a 9:00 am contest.
