NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The 33rd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team knocked off No. 28 Christopher Newport by a score of 5-4 on Sunday in Newport News.
CNU grabbed a 2-1 lead following the doubles competition, but the Generals easily took Nos. 4-6 singles, and then senior Jordan Krasner (Rockville, Md. / Walter Johnson) clinched the win with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over CNU's David Reed at No. 1 singles.
W&L improved to 8-4 with the win, while the Captains fell to 6-6.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Bridgewater for a 3:00 pm match.
