FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 21 Mary Washington on Saturday at the UMW Courts.
The Eagles took two of the three doubles matches, with the lone W&L victory coming from the team of senior Will Bannister (Bath, England / Beechen Cliff School) and first-year Charlie Kittredge (Alexandria, Va. / Field School) at No. 1. UMW then took all six singles matches to pull away for the victory.
With the loss, W&L fell to 7-4 on the season. Mary Washington improved to 7-4 as well.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday when it travels to 28th-ranked Christopher Newport for an 11:00 am contest.
