LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 6-3 win over Averett on Wednesday at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The Generals (1-0) dropped two of the three doubles matches, but recovered to win each of the top five singles positions to win the match.
The Cougars fell to 2-1 on the year with the loss.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday when it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for a 2:30 pm match.
