ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament with a 5-0 loss to top-ranked Emory University on Saturday.
The Eagles swept the doubles and then claimed straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles to close out the match.
The loss ends the Generals' season with a 16-9 overall record. Emory improved to 21-3.
Washington and Lee claimed its seventh straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.
Emory moves on to the third round, where it will take on the winner of a match between Trinity (Texas) and Sewanee.
