NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The 13th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team posted an 8-1 triumph over 32nd-ranked Christopher Newport on Monday afternoon at Eyre Courts.
The Blue and White swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles action, where it went on to claim five of the singles matches to reach the final margin of 8-1.
The Generals improve to an 11-4 overall record with the win, while the Captains fall to 13-7 overall with the loss.
W&L returns to the court on Tuesday when it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:00 pm conference contest.
