FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The fourth-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team posted a 5-0 win over N.C. Wesleyan in second round action of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament at Mary Washington on Saturday.
W&L swept the doubles matches to hold a 3-0 advantage heading into singles play.
In singles action, sophomore Brooke Donnelly (Kennesaw, Ga. / Marietta) won at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and senior Allison Hupalo (Weston, Mass. / Weston) notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
With the win, the Blue and White improve to a 24-4 overall record.
The Generals will face the winner of 13th-ranked MIT (16-5) and 19th-ranked Mary Washington (17-7) in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at 12:00 pm.
