LEXINGTON, Va. -- The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon men's tennis team posted a 6-3 win over 37th-ranked Washington and Lee on Saturday morning at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The Generals claimed the win at No. 1 doubles, but dropped the other two doubles matches to fall behind 2-1 entering singles play.
Junior Michael Holt (Henrico, Va./Mills Godwin) won his singles match over Abhishek Alla, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7) at No. 1 singles and sophomore Jordan Krasner (Rockville, Md. / Walter Johnson) earned a three-set win (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) over Kunal Wadwani at No. 3, but W&L fell in straight sets in the other four singles matches as the Tartans claimed the win.
W&L fell to 11-5 with the loss, while CMU improved to 10-6 with the win.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Roanoke for a 1:00 pm match.
