LEXINGTON, Va. -- Top-seeded Washington and Lee took down eighth-seeded Guilford, 5-0, in the ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday at the W&L Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Generals breezed through the doubles round, taking all three matches by a score of 8-0 to go into singles with a 3-0 advantage. W&L then took victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to claim a 5-0 decision.
Senior Chelsea Mixson (Beaufort, S.C. / Hilton Head Prep) led the Generals with two wins on the day. Mixson partnered with junior Meghan Buell (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany) to post an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while notching her second win at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
With the win, W&L advances to the ODAC Semifinals to be held on Saturday on the campus of Sweet Briar. It will face Bridgewater at 8:30 am.
