ATLANTA, Ga. -- The 24th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team was knocked off by fourth-ranked Emory University on Wednesday in Atlanta.
The doubles team of junior Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas / ATA College Prep) and sophomore Michael Holt (Henrico, Va. / Mills Godwin) posted a win at No. 1, but the Eagles took the other two doubles matches to carry a 2-1 lead into singles.
W&L managed only a win at No. 4 singles as first-year Jordan Krasner (Rockville, Md. / Walter Johnson) emerged victorious over Ian Wagner.
The win improved Emory to 13-5 overall, while the Generals fell to 13-4.
W&L returns to action on Friday as it travels to Sewanee for a 2:00 pm match.
