LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team was knocked off by 17th-ranked Mary Washington by a score of 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at the W&L Outdoor Courts.
The Generals trailed 2-1 following doubles, with the No. 3 doubles team posting an 8-4 win. W&L claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, but fell in the remaining five singles matches for the final count.
With the loss, W&L dropped to 7-2 overall, while the Eagles improved to 10-2.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Emory & Henry for a 3:00 pm contest.
