LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee women's
tennis team improved to 5-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in ODAC play
after defeating Randolph-Macon, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at the
Duchossois Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fell to 2-2 on the season and
0-1 in ODAC action.
The Generals swept all three doubles matches to enter the
singles round with a 3-0 advantage. Junior Meghan Buell (New
Albany, Ohio / New Albany) and sophomore Mary Elizabeth Shutley
(Marietta, Ga. / Marist School) won at the No. 1 singles and No. 3
singles, respectively, to claim the victory.
The Blue and White will be back in action on Wednesday when it
hosts Guilford for a 4:30 pm contest.
