GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington and Lee women's tennis team increased its ODAC winning streak to 11 in taking down Guilford, 9-0, on Sunday at the McMichael Centennial Class Courts.
With the win, the Generals are now 15-4 overall and hold a perfect 11-0 record in conference, while the Quakers are 7-8 on the year.
W&L breezed through doubles round, dropping just one point to enter singles play with a 3-0 lead. The Generals then went on to sweep all singles matches to claim the 9-0 victory.
Sophomore Meghan Buell (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) recorded a 2-0 mark on the day. She teamed up with junior Claire Cahill (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis) at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-0, and then defeated Natalie Sutton, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
The Blue and White return to the court on Friday when they travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for a 9:00 pm EST contest.
