LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team
extended its winning streak to seven straight matches with a 5-3
win over 23rd-ranked Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon at
the W&L Outdoor Courts.
The Generals took Nos. 1-2 doubles to enter singles play with a
2-1 lead. Junior Hayden White (Baltimore,
Md./Towson) then knocked off CWRU's Will Drougas, 6-3, 7-5, at No.
1 singles and first-year Taylor Shamshiri (Austin,
Texas/ATA College Prep) recorded a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over Sean
Carr at No. 2 singles. First-year Christopher Hu (Ridgewood,
N.J./Ridgewood) also logged a singles victory, defeating Rohan
Patel, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4 singles.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Sunday when it hosts
16th-ranked Mary Washington at 1:00 pm
