LEXINGTON, Va. – Facing its second NCAA Division I team in the past week, the Washington and Lee women's tennis team fell to James Madison, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
Both wins came in doubles, beginning with a 9-7 win by the No. 1 duo of seniors Jen Snyder (Highland Heights, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) and Trelsie Sadler (Wakefield, R.I./Groton School) defeating senior Kinsey Pate (Matthews, N.C./Butler) and first-year Taylor Pinchoff (Sylvan Lake, Mich./West Bloomfield).
At the No. 3 doubles position, first-years Sonja Meighan (McLean, Va./Flint Hill) and Patricia Kirkland (Charleston, S.C./Ashley Hall) downed the team of sophomore Ruxandra Andriescu (Brampton, Ontario/Turner Fenton) and junior Megan Douglass (Wilton, Conn./St.Luke's) by a score of 8-6).
The Generals return to the court March 2, traveling to ITA Indoor Nationals beginning at 3:30 pm.
