BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore.
Hopkins took two of the three doubles matches and the Generals' lone singles win was produced by junior Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson), who knocked off JHU junior Andy Hersch by a score of 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. Hersch is ranked sixth-nationally in the ITA preseason rankings.
With the loss, W&L fell to 2-1 overall, while the Blue Jays improved to 1-1.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to California to take on 15th-ranked University of Redlands at 2:00 pm pacific time.
