LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 30th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team fell to 17th-ranked Carnegie Mellon, 6-3, on Saturday morning at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The doubles team of juniors Michael Freeman (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) and Jeremy Becht (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah) recorded an 8-1 win at No. 3 singles, while sophomore Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) and junior Brian Roberts (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) were the lone winners for W&L in singles. White notched a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Roberts logged a 7-6 (5), 2-6, 10-8 win at No. 6 singles.
With the loss, the Generals fell to 11-2 overall. Carnegie Mellon improved to 11-6 with the victory.
Washington and Lee returns to action on April 16 when it hosts a yet-to-be determined opponent in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament.
