LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 25th-ranked and second-seeded Washington
and Lee men's tennis team advanced to the ODAC Finals with a 5-0
victory over third-seeded Bridgewater in the ODAC Tournament
Semifinals on Saturday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The Generals claimed all three doubles matches to take a 3-0
lead into singles where sophomore Michael Freeman (Portland,
Ore./Jesuit) and junior Will Hall (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape
Elizabeth) both emerged victorious. Freeman won 6-0, 6-3 at
No. 4 and Hall won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5.
With the win, W&L improved to 14-7, while Bridgewater fell
to 13-6.
Washington and Lee will now take on top-seeded Hampden-Sydney in
the finals on Sunday at 10:00 am. The Tigers knocked off the
Generals by a score of 5-3 in last season's title match.
