LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 25th-ranked and top-seeded Washington and
Lee men's tennis team fell to second-seeded Hampden-Sydney by a
score of 5-3 in the ODAC Championship match on Sunday afternoon at
the W&L Courts.
For W&L (15-6), the loss snapped a string of 13-consecutive
league titles and was the first setback to an ODAC school since
falling to the Tigers midway through the 2000 season.
Hampden-Sydney (13-5) receives the ODAC's automatic bid to the NCAA
Tournament while the Generals must wait to see if they are awarded
an at-large bid.
