LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened fall play on Friday with a dominant 7-0 win over Randolph-Macon on the home courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Generals (1-0, 1-0 ODAC) lost only three total games in doubles play to kick off the match. Sophomore Todd Cannaliato and junior Ryan Good won 6-0 at No. 3, sophomore Henry Imorde and first-year Lach McCaghren dropped one game at No. 1 and senior Heys Parker and first-year Dutch Prather were 6-2 victors at No. 2.
- Parker, Prather and sophomore Pearce Lane went on to post 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 2, 3 and 6 singles, respectively. Cannaliato won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and McCaghren also lost only one game at No. 5.
- Imorde wrapped up the shutout of the Yellow Jackets (0-1, 0-1 ODAC) by downing JP Zano 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Imorde's win at No. 1 marked his first time playing at the top spot in the lineup. He went 7-3 at No. 2 last season.
- The Generals clinched a win in their season opener for the fifth straight season.

The Generals will head down to Greensboro, N.C., on Saturday to take on Guilford at 1:00 p.m.
